Benefits of Bathing

Take a bath, yes. Fresh and healthy! According to the recent research, bathing is not only good to clean the body from the dirt, but also to make stress away. Bathing also have an important role improving the immune system, helping to avoid skin disease such as eczema as well as healing serious medical problems.

A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine showed that diabetics who spend only 30 minutes for soaking in a tub of warm water, can lower blood sugar level about 13 percent.

Another study in Japan showed that soaking in a warm water for 10 minutes can improve the health of heart both men and women. It helps them to lead a better exercise test and reduce the pain.

So, what are the benefits of bathing? And how long you should shower? Here are some suggestion for fun and healthy bathing.
Removing toxins
Warm bath at 32-35 degrees of Celcius open the pores which help removing toxins. Warm bath can also help lowering the blood sugar levels, healing sore muscles, and helps keeping the colon working properly. The recommended time is about 10-20 minutes.

Stress relieving
If you are really experiencing stress, cold water bath would be the right answer. The recommended temperature is about 12-18 degrees of Celcius. Cold shower is really good to relieve tension because it can narrow the blood and improve the blood sugar levels. It is contrary to a warm bath.

Treating eczema
Certain skin disease such as eczema, rashes, and itch can be treated by adding baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) into the tub. Baking soda acts as an antiseptic. Fill the water with lukewarm water, add about one pound of baking soda and stir until blended. Advisable to soak for 10-20 minutes.

Treating infections
Yeast infection such as thrush can be helped by adding 3-4 of cider vinegar into the warm water tub. It also good to remove toxins from the body because the vinegar can balance the acid. Soak for 15-20 minutes.

Curing flu and headache
Soak feet in a warm water can help curing flu and headache and refresh tired legs. Put a warm water into the tub until cover the foot and ankle. Add a few drops of oils such as lavender, peppermint, or lemon. After finishing, wash with cold water. Do it for 10-20 minutes.

Treating insomnia
Soaking the feet in cold water is very good for people who have insomnia problems or trouble sleeping. Put the feet until feeling cold. This treatment is also useful for tired legs, nose bleeds, flu, and constipation.

Treating circulation
Try soaking the feet alternately between warm water and cold water if you have circulation problems. Start by soaking the feet for 1-2 minutes in warm water, then 3 minutes in cold water. Try to do it for 15 minutes then settled with cold water.
